Vi ska \u00e4ta v\u00e5r mat p\u00e5 v\u00e5ra turist-lunch-st\u00e4llen och han ska g\u00f6ra det-nu-chauff\u00f6rerna-g\u00f6r-n\u00e4r-deras-turister-lunchar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Men vi insisterar. Det har blivit n\u00e5got av en tradition, ett s\u00e4tt f\u00f6r oss att komma lite n\u00e4rmare v\u00e5ra chauff\u00f6rer, att f\u00e5 prata lite mer \u00f6ga mot \u00f6ga, inte bara genom backspegeln. Ska vi vara \u00e4rliga finns det ett mer egoistiskt motiv \u00e4n s\u00e5, vi vill f\u00e5 lite initierad handledning i det lankesiska k\u00f6ket. Vi lankeser blir p\u00e5 allvar sjuka om vi inte f\u00e5r rice and curry tv\u00e5 g\u00e5nger om dagen minst. G\u00e4rna tre. Ta ni vad ni vill, men jag \u00e4ter aldrig&nbsp;n\u00e5got annat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>N\u00e4r maten kommer in greppar han en sked:<br>-Jag \u00e4ter normalt med handen, s\u00e4ger han med en&nbsp;urs\u00e4ktande nick mot skeden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi f\u00e5r senare tillf\u00e4lle att studera detta n\u00e4rmare. Lankeser \u00e4ter verkligen med h\u00f6ger hand. Vid ing\u00e5ngen till varje lokal restaurang finns ett tv\u00e4ttst\u00e4ll, d\u00e4r man anmodas tv\u00e4tta h\u00e4nderna. Sedan r\u00f6rs ris och curry ihop effektivt med h\u00f6gerhanden samtidigt som man lassar in med fingertopparna. Sj\u00e4lv skulle man f\u00f6rmodligen ha curry \u00e4nd\u00e5 upp till armb\u00e5garna om man f\u00f6rs\u00f6kte med lankeserna&nbsp;lyckas utan att kladda ner mer \u00e4n nedersta delen av fingrarna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi \u00e4lskar ju att prova lokal mat n\u00e4r vi \u00e4r ute och reser, men handen p\u00e5 hj\u00e4rtat blir den lankesiska besattheten av rice and curry lite besv\u00e4rande f\u00f6r oss. Det \u00e4r samma smaker som kommer igen och igen oavsett om man best\u00e4ller in kyckling-curry, biff-curry, potatis-curry, aubergine-curry eller r\u00f6dbetscurry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vi tvingas fr\u00e5ng\u00e5 v\u00e5r lokala princip&nbsp;och best\u00e4ller in club-sandwish, burgare, shanghai-nudlar ibland f\u00f6r att m\u00e4kta med.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/4000mil.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSCF0153.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5640\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/4000mil.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSCF0153-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Shanghai nudle\" class=\"wp-image-5640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/4000mil.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSCF0153.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/4000mil.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSCF0153-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/4000mil.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSCF0153-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/4000mil.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DSCF0153-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Ibland m\u00e5ste man vila lite i en enkel &#8221;Shanghai nudle.&#8221;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Relationen mellan Sri Lanka och Indien \u00e4r, f\u00e5r vi h\u00f6ra, lite som den mellan Kina och Hong Kong. Ett storebrorskomplex som inte alls uppskattas allts\u00e5. Lankeserna vill sk\u00f6ta sig sj\u00e4lv utan inblandning fr\u00e5n storebror Indien. Detta m\u00e4rks ocks\u00e5, influenserna fr\u00e5n Indien \u00e4r m\u00e4rkv\u00e4rdigt f\u00e5, med tanke p\u00e5 geografin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gott s\u00e5, man kan f\u00f6rst\u00e5 inst\u00e4llningen. Men i ett avseende t\u00e4nker vi att man hade kunna vinna p\u00e5 att ta rygg&nbsp;p\u00e5 storebror, n\u00e4mligen i matlagningen.<br>D\u00e4r den indiska maten exploderar i m\u00e5ngsidighet och kreativa smaker, lunkar den lankesiska mest p\u00e5 i gamla invanda fotsp\u00e5r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dock, lite grann uppblandad med annan kost och v\u00e4l tillagad, \u00e4r rice-and-curryn ett n\u00f6je att inta. Pizzan m\u00f6ter pirogen, lite f\u00f6renklat. Vi provar f\u00f6rst\u00e5s p\u00e5 klassisk mark, Dewmini Roti Shop ligger 1:a p\u00e5 Trippan i Mirissa.<br>Rotin smakar helt okej, men inte s\u00e5 mycket mer.
